I'm pleased to report that *many* Bahamians wish to sell me Cuban cigars, and I'm also pleased that so many of you feel the same way about the expensive, failed, stupid, fight-communism-with-socialism US embargo. It has given Fidel Castro an excuse for his oppressive system's dismal economic failures for the last four decades...
Breezes is very nice, but today I've mostly traveled around Nassau, using the resort only as a pitstop for food and (lots of) drinks. I'm charmed with the Bahamians, especially those in the reconstituted Straw Market, who definitely want my money and are willing to sell 'most anything. They're interested in e-gold (and gold in general!) but few Bahamians use the internet yet. Breezes is very athletics- intensive. They train (in a manner of speaking...) guests who are willing to use their trapese (with a net) and put on a very amusing show with some extremely athletic Bahamians. Tomorrow, in an effort to take advantage of SOMETHING besides their free bar, I intend to go sailing with Jamal (the wind is great!). The Cohiba robusto (from a real tobacco shop) was very good, but I got a few Havana Bolivars from a street-vendor which don't have much of a draw. :( Oh well... From reports I've seen in the Cigar magazine (thanks, MagazineDepot!) this is a sign they're authentic, as Cuba's quality control on cigars has a bit of catch-up to do with the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua (another reason to end the moronic, tax-and-spend cigar embargo, if you ask me!). Oh well. Anyway, I'm pleased that others share my opinion of the failure- embargo, but I'd be *especially* pleased if other customers of my favorite web-cigar-shop, http://www.jrcigars.com (surprisingly, the JR does not stand for Jim Ray!) would urge them to accept better money. It's certainly nice to be in the company of other cigar- smoking capitalists!
