E-gold might want to consider rewriting the e-gold front end using java applets.

The applets, a html page to invoke them and digital signatures could all
be burnt onto a CD. To access e-gold, plug in the CD, double-click the
html icon and off you go. The e-gold IP address, digital signatures,
etc could all be burnt onto the CD, users would only have to enter their
acct number and a pin code or passphrase to "unlock" the CD in case
the CD was lost or stolen.

Alternatively, with digital signatures u can identify the user and
give him a chooser to pick the account numbers to log in with.
Authentification routines could be built into the java applets to
foil hack attacks and a CD is much cheaper then using SecurID
like products. For those users that dont want to wait for the CD
via snail mail, the applets and html pages could be downloadable
and bundled to install on a users machine.

Of course, by sending the CD via snail mail, u can verify that
some of the account contact information is correct.

Anyway, need help with java, then contact me.
