Hi Don, Thanks for your prompt reply. We have requested to provide the "released" bypass driver, 3.19.1_bypass via IPS. Thanks once again for your quick response and advice.

Basically they (whomever you were talking with on IPS) gave you the wrong driver. Sadly I can't give you the driver directly as I don't know the proper mechanism. Which is silly since I'm the ixgbe/ixgbevf linux maintainer and even personally wrote the bypass driver. ;-) But I can tell you the correct version and if you want copy me on the email when you're asking for it from whomever your IPS contact is. I should be able to point them in the correct direction if he/she is still confused. Like latest "released" bypass driver is 3.19.1_bypass. The driver you have is base off our unreleased development code, it hasn't been tested on your device. I imagine changes that have occurred since the last release have broken something. Sorry this happened and I hope this helps, -Don > -----Original Message----- > From: Aizawa, Hiroshi [mailto:hiroshi.aiz...@avnet.com] > Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2016 4:09 PM > To: Keller, Jacob E; Skidmore, Donald C; e1000-de...@lists.sf.net > Cc: Tsutsui, Akira > Subject: RE: Issue report - ixgbe-4.4.0.19.tar.gz > > Hi Don, > > Let me explain the background of this driver package. > When we purchased this device the driver did not come with it. > The product brief says; > Intel Ethernet Server Bypass Adapter driver support is not included in > the kernel or distributions. > Bypass products are targeted toward system integrator and appliance > customers. > Please contact Intel for bypass driver source code to install the product. > > We have contacted Intel via IPS (Intel Premier Support) at IBP which > is our official support path and got this driver package. > We reported this issue to IPS but they did not accept the issue report. > Our customer also posted this issue to Intel community but it was > rejected again, and finally reached you. > > We don't care the driver release version but want to get the > appropriate driver package which works correctly (including PTP) on > the Intel Ethernet Server Bypass Adapter X540-T2. > > Can you provide the official release version of driver for this device? > If not please advise the appropriate contact window to get the driver > as well as the technical support. > > We would appreciate your help. > > Regards, > Hiroshi Aizawa > > -----Original Message----- > From: Keller, Jacob E [mailto:jacob.e.kel...@intel.com] > Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2016 2:21 AM > To: Skidmore, Donald C; Aizawa, Hiroshi; e1000-de...@lists.sf.net > Cc: Tsutsui, Akira > Subject: RE: Issue report - ixgbe-4.4.0.19.tar.gz > > In 4.4.0.19, the PTP support is enabled via "PTP_CLOCK_SUPPORT", I believe. > It should be enabled by default as long as your kernel supports the > PTP module. > > Thanks, > Jake > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Skidmore, Donald C [mailto:donald.c.skidm...@intel.com] > > Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2016 8:22 AM > > To: Aizawa, Hiroshi; e1000-de...@lists.sf.net > > Cc: Tsutsui, Akira > > Subject: Re: [E1000-devel] Issue report - ixgbe-4.4.0.19.tar.gz > > > > Hey Hiroshi, > > > > Couple of things confuse me about your issue below: > > > > - You are using an unreleased driver (4.4.0.19).
