Erik,

my friend...buy a new computer to use an IDE?

can i place the order on dell.com and you pick up the tab?

i know you're half kidding about this suggestion. To your point "But its
basic mission is not to simply edit files. Its mission is to introduce some
intelligence into a development environment, and I think it does a great
job."

It can't introduce intelligence to anything unless I am allowed to type it
in first. It can't refactor code that isn't there. I don't wish to enter
into a quasi-religious debate as we seem to agree that this is, or has the
potential to become, an awesome product.

But it *is* an editor first and foremost.

:-)
