If you have some variable within a jsp declaration block, such as: <%! static final String MYCONSTANT = "foo" %> and want to rename MYCONSTANT (in general any renamable thing within <%! %> including method names and variables within those methods regardless of static)... then it won't work.  More specifically, the rename dialog will come up and if you hit OK, then the button will pause for a moment in the mouse-down state, and come up again... but do nothing.  The dialog stays there.  You must cancel the dialog to get out of it.   ~ Dave Smiley
