I never was able to get use to having to press [Tab] after the {, because
what I wanted was a carriage return... [Enter]!

I really believe it's behaving the way it SHOULD be have now. It's not a
live template, it's not being expanded, it's just sort of 'formatting as you
type' (and I wish it would do more, as in not even requiring an [ENTER]...
given the settings and the context of where I'm typing, it should know
EXACTLY where the { should go when I type it. Ditto the }. I should be
able to type just a long string of characters, and it should come out
formatted perfectly without me having to do anything special. I don't think
{ [ENTER] should behave like a live-template at all, it should just format
as you type. But that's just me, because I got VERY used to it in Kawa).

You can always create a "live template" that you can expand with [Tab], but
I think this is just a case of you getting used to something a bit weird,
and now something more natural feels 'weird'. Try just getting used to it
first, and if you really like the old way, just create a live template to
expand, and you'll be fine.

Eugene,

I there a reason for not reusing the user-defined default expand key?

I use [TAB] to expand live templates, but now I have to remember to use
[Enter] for '{'.
No big deal, but....
