But it *isn't* a menu. I've seen a Java IDE (don't know it's name any more) 
1 1/2 year ago and this had a menu at code complete. It simply was terrible 
to use!

Ask good ui designers, what these boys (or girls) say. I don't believe, 
that it's a good way to change some common ui-controls in that way, that 
they behave abnormal. A holding the up- or down-key in a list always ends 
either at the top or the bottom of the list, never in a endless loop.
