Yes, I've seen that and "catlins" but not the singular,"catlin." But what does 
it mean? I'll ask Chris. I too would describe him as a "great guy."

Are you in Boston? Did you get to any of Chris's lecture/recitals at the MFA? 
The series for this season was just announced, but will not include him this 
year.  It includes a lecture on Asian string instruments and on the 'ud. I'll 
post the lecture schedule to the Lute List.
