Jon is correct, the largest part of the size difference is due to the use of compression in the creation of the save file. There is an enhancement in V5R3 that also allows a *HIGH option on compression (which I did not use) that compresses the data significantly more (at the cost of more CPU time). The only thing that was removed in the CTC download is the Italian version of the web pages.
