You can also add sanity_pip_check=False
to the easyconfig and that should skip that check altogether. That may be something we should consider upstream as well.

But it is enabled in EasyBuild 5.0.0, which is probably what you were using to install EasyBuild v5.1.0.That explains why this is only popping up now for you.The problems seems to be that the check picks up the .pth /usr/lib64/python3.6/site-packages/zedat.pth which I use to make programs installed on an NFS share available. Thus I seem to have polluted my environment. I'll try to fix that.Yes, indeed, in EasyBuild we assume that "pip check" passes with the standard system Python (or the one used for running EasyBuild).regards, KennethThanks for the help! It is a bit of an old version. That may be part of the problem?I am using Python 3.6, but I had no problem updating from 4.9.4 to 5.0.0 onthis system. In any case here https://docs.easybuild.io/python-2-3-compatibility/>>>> it says the following Starting with EasyBuild v5.0, the EasyBuild framework and easyblocks require Python >= 3.6. So the Python version shouldn't be an issue.
