Heya Scott: Just got back from vacation and saw this post. I know that 1.33 solved a lot of connection problems, but this is one that I hadn't picked up on that appears to be lingering. I'm wondering whether I should hold off on rolling out 1.33 until you work through this issue?

My main aim is to connect to my work PC from my home PC. This is my setup on 2 WinXP computers: 1- I am running echoServer 1.40 and echoVNC 1.33 on my Home PC which is = accessible on all ports. 2- Work PC is behind a firewall which allows ports 443 and 80 only. 3- The work PC connects to the echoserver at home successfully through = port 443. 4- I can sucessfully connect to work PC from my home PC when the work PC = is NOT running a screensaver. 5- As soon as the work PC activates the screensaver, the echovnc = installed on this PC disconnects from the echoserver and thereby making = it impossible to make a connection ever again. 6- The problem can only be solved by deactivating the screensaver on = work PC, logging in, AND deleting and creating a new echoServer = connection in the EchoServer tab BECAUSE the EchoVNC on the work PC DOES = NOT try to reconnect automatically from this point on. Any ideas about how to overcome this frustration? thank you, Gurhan ------=_NextPart_000_0004_01C57823.23D5CD90 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-9" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-9"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2900.2668" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hi there,</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>First of all, thanks for providing this = software.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>My main aim is to connect to my work PC = from my=20 home PC.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>This is my setup on 2 WinXP = computers:</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>1- I am running echoServer 1.40 and = echoVNC 1.33 on=20 my Home PC which is accessible on all ports.<BR>2- Work PC is behind a = firewall=20 which allows ports 443 and 80 only.<BR>3- The work PC connects to the = echoserver=20 at home successfully through port 443.<BR>4- I can sucessfully connect = to work=20 PC from my home PC when the work PC is NOT running a screensaver.<BR>5- = As soon=20 as the work PC activates the screensaver, the echovnc installed on this = PC=20 disconnects from the echoserver and thereby making it impossible to make = a=20 connection ever again.<BR>6- The problem can only be solved by = deactivating the=20 screensaver on work PC, logging in, AND deleting and creating a new = echoServer=20 connection in the EchoServer tab BECAUSE the EchoVNC on the work PC DOES = NOT try=20 to reconnect automatically from this point on.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Any ideas about how to overcome this=20 frustration?</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>thank you,</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Gurhan</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_0004_01C57823.23D5CD90-- --__--__-- Message: 2 Cc: <[email protected]> From: Scott Best <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [Echovnc-users] Screensaver problem Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2005 09:26:23 -0700 To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Gurhan: Heya. Yes, EchoVNC has a problem recovering from a "locked PC" right now. It should, of course, auto-reconnect to the echoServer in the same way that it will when you stop and then restart the echoServer. We're looking into why it's not... -Scott On Jun 23, 2005, at 8:41 AM, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi there, > =A0 > First of all, thanks for providing this software. > =A0 > My main aim is to connect to my work PC from my home PC. > =A0 > This is my setup on 2 WinXP computers: > =A0 > 1- I am running echoServer 1.40 and echoVNC 1.33 on my Home PC which=20= > is accessible on all ports. > 2- Work PC is behind a firewall which allows ports 443 and 80 only. > 3- The work PC connects to the echoserver at home successfully through=20= > port 443. > 4- I can sucessfully connect to work PC from my home PC when the work=20= > PC is NOT running a screensaver. > 5- As soon as the work PC activates the screensaver, the echovnc=20 > installed on this PC disconnects from the echoserver and thereby=20 > making it impossible to make a connection ever again. > 6- The problem can only be solved by deactivating the screensaver on=20= > work PC, logging in, AND deleting and creating a new echoServer=20 > connection in the EchoServer tab BECAUSE the EchoVNC on the work PC=20 > DOES NOT try to reconnect automatically from this point on. > =A0 > Any ideas about how to overcome this frustration? > =A0 > thank you, > =A0 > Gurhan= --__--__-- _______________________________________________ Echovnc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/echovnc-users End of Echovnc-users Digest ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
