Dear Scott,
I've run numerous tests in both intranet and internet environments before
replying and I can confirm the following:
- The echoserver and echovnc works with no problem in the intranet
environment at the work place. I.e., when only echoserver and echovnc are
used without Stunnel, the host pc wakes up from any screensaver.
- However, my previous problem repeats itself in the internet environment
where I try to connect from home pc to the pc at work. This, I believe, is
due to a disconnection issue caused by Stunnel once the pc is locked and due
to the fact that echovnc gives up trying to connect thereof.
This is why I believe that an integration of SSL (like Stunnel) with an
"HTTP-Connect-style proxy support" will be an asset for those who have the
similar setup as I do.
Considering the fact that it is inevitable to have internet disconnections
every once in a while, "the configuration" should keep trying to connect
once the connection is re-established.
for your kind consideration........
regards,
Gurhan

Heya. So...exactly what sort of screensaver are you running
on your work PC? I tested this weekend with the "default" screensaver
on WinXP-Pro (SP1), and the echoServer connection did not go down
when the screensaver activated.
thanks,
Scott

Hi there,
First of all, thanks for providing this software.
My main aim is to connect to my work PC from my home PC.
This is my setup on 2 WinXP computers:
1- I am running echoServer 1.40 and echoVNC 1.33 on my Home PC which is
accessible on all ports.
2- Work PC is behind a firewall which allows ports 443 and 80 only.
3- The work PC connects to the echoserver at home successfully through
port 443.
4- I can sucessfully connect to work PC from my home PC when the work PC
is NOT running a screensaver.
5- As soon as the work PC activates the screensaver, the echovnc
installed on this PC disconnects from the echoserver and thereby making
it impossible to make a connection ever again.
6- The problem can only be solved by deactivating the screensaver on work
PC, logging in, AND deleting and creating a new echoServer connection in
the EchoServer tab BECAUSE the EchoVNC on the work PC DOES NOT try to
reconnect automatically from this point on.
Any ideas about how to overcome this frustration?
thank you,
Gurhan
