We possess our bodies, but if we mistreat them, we die. The earth
belongs to us as much as we belong to it - we belong to each other
(this is the Sacred Marriage). If we continue to abuse this covenant
by our cancerous out-of-control multiplying, the terrible death
control to come will make retroactive believers of all those who reject
mandatory birth control now. We need to exercise some
responsible stewardship/control, instead of blithely passing the
environmental buck to some imaginary skymanager; otherwise we
bear sole responsibility for the horrors to come, and the darwinian
and malthusian deaths of untold billions, through starvation, disease
and war, will stain our hands, no matter how hard we try to Pilate-
