        POSITION  ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:  Assistant Professor Wildlife Biology

LOCATION:  Department of Fishery and Wildlife Biology, College of Natural 
Resources, Colorado State University, Fort Collins

APPOINTMENT:  Ninemonth tenure track

QUALIFICATIONS:  Required:  1) Ph.D. in wildlife biology or closely related field.  
2)  Substantial teaching experience either postdoctoral and/or predoctoral.  3) 
Eligible for certification by The Wildlife Society.

Highly Desirable:  1) Teaching experience with major responsibilities in courses 
required for this position.  2) Publications in refereed, scientific periodicals, and 
examples of public outreach.  3) Skilled in using modern methods, technologies, and 
media in teaching and outreach.  4) Work experience with a natural resource agency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  1) Be the lead professor in a multisection 
Wildlife Inquiries course required of firstyear fishery and wildlife biology majors.  
2) Teach Principles of Vertebrate Management to fishery and wildlife biology 
majors and other natural resources majors.  3) Teach the wildlife habitat course to 
wildlife biology majors and other natural resources majors.  4) Opportunity to 
participate in a Collegewide Natural Resources Ecology and Measurements course 
at a mountain campus during summer.  5) Advise undergraduates; advise student 
groups and supervise student activities.  6) Establish a sound program of research 
and scholarly activity, including support for graduate students.  7)  Participate in 
professional, university, and community service.

SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS:  Commensurate with qualifications and
