Hey all--

I have never used any other machine for my personal work than Mac. It does it all--has excel and every stats package (if you get them).

What it does well and what you pay for these days esp on a laptop is the graphic package. Check into it, but I suspect GIS/ArchView can run on Macs and if so, you will be supercomputing and leaving the silly PCs behind.

:)

A grad student of mine uses a Mac laptop, and she doesn't have excel on it but some other spreadsheet that does not do as much as Excel does. Do you need to make special arrangements to have the usual PC programs put on a mac?
