Agricultural Landscape Ecology Laboratory Seeks Research Assistant 2

 

A full-time research technician position is available in the Agricultural
Landscape Ecology Laboratory in the Department of Entomology at The Ohio
State University - OARDC.  The successful candidate will manage laboratory
operations, coordinate and conduct field research, assist graduate students
and participate in outreach activities.  Current projects include: examining
the influence of landscape structure on native and exotic lady beetle
populations in crop and semi-natural habitats, exploring the impacts of
landscape change on native pollinator abundance and pollination services in
diverse vegetable cropping systems, and measuring the value of biocontrol
services across multiple habitats within agricultural landscapes. Candidates
with experience: using ARC-GIS software to analyze aerial and satellite
imagery, coordinating large-scale field experiments, managing summer
research assistants, conducting outreach activities with the public, using
statistical packages such as R and SAS, and presenting results verbally and
in writing in scientific and outreach formats are encouraged to apply.
Minimum of a B.S. in Entomology, Ecology, Biology or related field required,
M.S. degree preferred.  This is a 1 year position with the possibly to
