Volunteer Position: Monarch Butterfly Field Assistant (University of Guelph)
What: I am looking for 1 student volunteer to assist with research on the spring migration patterns of the Monarch butterfly. Where: Throughout the continental U.S and Ontario (Great Lakes, US Gulf Coast, American Midwest, East Coast). When: May 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009. Primary field duties: Capturing/pinning of Monarchs, sampling of milkweed leaf tissue, and helping with navigation. Assistant must be flexible, able to work long hours (including driving for extended periods of time) and be comfortable camping outside in poor weather conditions. G drivers license an asset.
