The Cardoza lab is looking for an outstanding, enthusiastic, self-motivated graduate student with interest in the behavior, biology or chemical ecology of soil arthropods. Research in our lab employs a multidisciplinary approach to elucidating the mechanisms driving insect pest interactions with their environment, particularly in agricultural systems. The selected student will explore the effects of interactions between plants and beneficial soil microbes and their consequences on preference and performance by root feeding arthropods. Requirements: MS degree in biology, entomology or a related discipline. Candidates are required to formally apply to, and must meet the requirements to be accepted by, the North Carolina State University Graduate School (http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/grad/prospect.htm) before consideration.
