Hello All,

I am interested in methods that would allow me to track relatively small
(1-3 mm diameter) seeds that are moved around in an agricultural environment
by both vertebrate and invertebrate seed predators.

I've read about using radioactivity to label seeds, which might work except
I won't be allowed to use radioactive materials in the field. And I've read
about using fluorescent pigments to label seeds, but this won't work for me
because I want to be able to locate seeds that have been cached (buried).

Does anyone recall any innovative methods used for seed tracking?

Much thanks!

Greta
