The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation seeks short Letters of Interest
(LOIs) from organizations interested in developing and managing a new
undergraduate conservation research program aimed at increasing the
diversity of the conservation workforce. The program will emphasize
rigorous research experiences and include field work opportunities, cohort
building activities, career training, and multiyear engagement. LOIs
should outline the institution's vision for the program and make a case
for why it is qualified to establish and manage it. Based on a review of
the LOIs received, the Foundation will invite a small number of
organizations to submit a full proposal. The Foundation anticipates
awarding one grant providing up to $500,000 a year for three years to
support a single nationwide program that will draw students from multiple
academic institutions in the U.S. LOIs must be submitted to the
Foundation by 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 13, 2012. For the full
