POSITION DESCRIPTION: BOTANY INSTRUCTOR: The Department of Biology at the 
University of Illinois Springfield has an opening beginning August 2014 for a 
Botany Instructor. Requirements include a minimum of MS, Ph.D. preferred, in 
Botany or closely related field in the Plant Sciences. The position will 
require teaching a junior-level course in Botany with labs, a non-majors 
biology course, and electives in the candidate's area of expertise.  Normal 
teaching load is three 4 credit hour courses per semester or a lecture plus 
three labs. College teaching experience is desirable, and dedication to 
teaching is essential. The position will also have a service expectation.  The 
position is full time and renewable depending on performance.


QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum MS in Botany or closely related field, Ph.D. 
preferred.  Prior evidence of excellence in teaching is desirable.

DEPARTMENT: Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois 
Springfield is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois.  The UIS
