The Northeast Climate Science Center (NE CSC) along with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking a Research Fellow. The selected Research Fellow will join an active group of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students engaged in research projects funded by the Department of Interior, NOAA, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Job duties include: communication of the results of management and research projects and integration of research and natural resource management decisions; development of project research goals through innovative ideas and approaches; assistance in preparing research reports; participation in research group meetings; and coordination of researchers and natural resource managers via telephone, webinars, in-person meetings.

Requirements: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in an area of natural sciences, engineering or other relevant discipline; Master’s Degree preferred. Previous experience with stakeholder-driven research is strongly desired. She/he will travel to regional project research meetings and may give scientific presentations at regional or national meetings. Starting salary is expected to be $42,000 but will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
