A 2 credit, 10 day intensive field course in forest ecology field methods is being offered in beautiful Juneau, Alaska, in the heart of the amazing Tongass National Forest, the largest national forest in the country and one of our most beautiful wilderness landscapes. The course will cover basics of forest stand description, biomass estimation, spatial stem mapping, bog and soils ecology, pathogen/pest assessment, and canopy metrics.
