Visiting Assistant Professor, Evolutionary Biology

The Department of Biology at the College of William and Mary seeks 
applications for a non-tenure track one-year position Visiting Assistant 
Professor in EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY, with additional teaching 
responsibilities in either Animal Behavior or Conservation Biology. The 
candidate is expected to teach a sophomore-level Evolution of Organisms 
lecture course and an upper-level seminar course (in the candidate’s 
area of expertise) in one semester, and an advanced undergraduate 
lecture course in either Animal Behavior or Conservation Biology as well 
as an upper-level seminar course (in the candidate’s area of expertise) 
in the other semester. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Prior 
experience teaching undergraduate courses will be viewed favorably. The 
department and College strongly value excellence in teaching and there 
are many on-campus initiatives to aid faculty in developing their 
teaching abilities and skills.
