The Dochtermann Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at North
Dakota State University is seeking to fill a PhD assistantship as part
of a project examining the evolutionary pressures that shape behavioral
syndromes (trait correlations). The student will student will work
within a broader NSF funded project and the research will involve both
field and lab components. Field work will include behavioral
observations of crickets, mark-recapture, and measurements of abiotic
and biotic environmental conditions. Lab work will include behavioral
observations and intensive quantitative genetic experiments.
The position can start Spring or Fall Semester 2017.
Requirements: BS or MS in ecology, evolution, animal behavior, or
related field; experience collecting and analyzing data; ability to work
independently and as part of a larger collaborative group.
Preferred: MS highly preferred; experience conducting quantitative
genetic experiments; field research experience
