Colleagues, I am considering adopting a new textbook for an upper-level (400/500) course in Agroecology. I was wondering if anybody could recommend a textbook for this course, assuming that students will have taken the appropriate prerequisite classes in ecology and plant science at the 200 level. Ideally, the textbook would attempt to incorporate modern-day agriculture (precision agriculture, GMO adoption and concerns, biofuels etc.) with sustainable ecological principles.
I am somewhat familiar with the Gliessman text "Agroecology: The ecology of sustainable food systems" (and accompanying lab manual), but was wondering if there is anything else that would be appropriate for an upper-level course. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Best regards, Chris Ruhland Minnesota State University, Mankato
