POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN TREE PHYSIOLOGICAL ECOLOGY The Uriarte lab in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology at Columbia University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in plant physiological ecology. The successful candidate will join a NSF-funded project to quantify the importance of individual variation in stem hydraulic characteristics on tree species performance in the island of Puerto Rico. The postdoctoral associate will carry out field work, supervise a field technician, analyze data, and work on manuscripts with the PI and co-I Robert Muscarella.
This is a two year position based in Puerto Rico and New York City. Preferred start date is January 2019 but there is some flexibility for suitable candidates. A Ph.D. in ecology and experience carrying out tree physiology measurements, with a focus on stem hydraulics, is required. Spanish fluency is highly desirable but not a requirement.
