For anyone living in Oregon (USA) the state has published
a solar energy guide. It covers basic tax law, finance, local
installers, and setting up a PV system. I got my copy by
mail but it may be available on their web site.

Recent health news has been full of confusing reports which
may be good news and signal a breakthrough. Here are some
examples:

Harvard Women's Health Watch, December 200 reports:
Carbohydrates with a high Glycemic index have proven
connection to less obesity and better health. Processed
cereals, potatoes, and white flour have a low Glycemic
index and should be avoided.

Health News (New England Journal of Medicine) December 2000.
Two recent studies have shown that high fiber diets may cause
harm and not provide any cancer prevention benefits. They
recommend avoiding supplemental dietary fiber.

Another series of studies that i reported on a few days ago
said low fat diets are not always useful and there
isn't a direct connection between hearth disease and fat
intake.

These studies seem to be saying our previous focus on
fats, carbohydrates, fiber, etc. is somewhat misguided
and instead we should look at what is unique about
natural (unprocessed) food. They also hint that
supplements, special diets, and miracle foods are not
the source of good health.
