Position Title  Sr. Programmer, E-commerce

Responsibilities:
        This position is responsible for developing new web-based applications, 
enhancing current applications, and supporting the existing applications. This 
includes analyzing, planning, developing, testing, and supporting website application 
software to meet the information needs of the AGLC business operations. E-commerce and 
web-based development will be used based on the needs of the business. 
Job Entry Requirements:
        Requires a 4-year college degree or equivalent experience. Requires at least 1 
year of experience in object-oriented web-based programming using a RDBMS and SQL. 
Experience specifically with Oracle, PLSQL, UNIX, and Java is desirable. Structured 
SLC methodology experience, software development techniques required. Additional 
required skills include: excellent problem solving skills, technical writing skills, 
communication skills, inter-personal skills, customer focus orientation, team player, 
organization skills, techniques and tools. 
 Position-Specific Critical Success Factors:
                1.      Ability to rapidly translate business users' requirements and 
problems into technology-based solutions as part of a business and technology team.
2.      Experience using a web-based/e-commerce development methodology to design and 
complete repeatable application solutions, which identify and contain project risk and 
include process metrics to input into to an I/S process improvement initiative.
3.      Experience using a technical environment including languages, database 
management systems, web development tools, Java, and teleprocessing systems to build 
and maintain web-based applications.
4.      Ability to take a systematic and thorough approach to troubleshoot and remedy 
functional application problems.
5.      Capability to understand the business application support and enhancement 
requirements and to develop alternatives that enable business units to make informed 
business decisions.
6.      Experience introducing new technology to extend current IS&T capability to 
meet business needs.

                1.      Superior customer service orientation. Must have ability to 
work with AGLC clients to understand their priorities and application requirements, in 
order to negotiate, and document action plans and schedules.

priorities, and matrix management/reporting structures, based on the requirements of

Responsibilities:
        This position is responsible for developing new web-based applications, 
enhancing current applications, and supporting the existing applications. This 
position is also responsible for setting the technical direction of AGL's e-commerce 
efforts, as well as providing guidance for junior developers. 
Job Entry Requirements:
        Requires a 4-year college degree or equivalent experience. Requires at least 4 
years of general programming experience in a variety of languages with 2+ of those 
years in Java with some experience with servlets (at least 6 months and 1 major 
project). Also requires 3 years with HTML, 3 years with JavaScript, and 1 year SQL and 
JDBC. Must be competent with database concepts and data modeling techniques. Must 
demonstrate excellence in administering Win NT, Sun Solaris and Linux.
Experience specifically with Oracle and PLSQL is desirable. Structured SLC methodology
