There is a draw back to using eGroups.  It requires cookies.  Our shop does
not allow cookies on the desk top.  Cookies is not considered a business
tool.

I must agree with Julie.  The message archives are incredibly simple to use
and it has many features including a database, file folder for attachments
(quite useful!), Calendar and Polls.  I belong to two groups there.
