Joy Lovell from IBM and Rodger Golgart from i2 Technologies will provide an overview of the eMarketplace hustle, and why so many companies are either implementing or investigating eMarketplaces and B2B auctions. This will be mainly an educational session on what is going on in the electronic marketplace arena. But there will be examples and cases cited of actual marketplaces that have been started, such as e2Open.com, an eMarketplace powered by IBM, i2 and Ariba for use with IBM and 10 of their major suppliers. They will also focus on what is required and how it might fit in various organizational structures. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the meeting in a panel discussion format. Speaker 1: Joy Lovell - Client Solution Executive, IBM Interchange Services for e-Business. Joy has been with IBM for 23 years of which 15 have been spent in IBM's Value Added Network services. She covers all aspects of electronic commerce: EC/EDI, hosted e-Markets, Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment and Managed GroupWare Services. Joy is a graduate of the University of Redlands, with a BS in Business Administration. She is active in many EC/EDI Users groups in the west and participates in DISA and ECWorld events. Speaker 2: Rodger Golgart - Senior Sales Consultant with i2 Technologies. Rodger joined i2 to focus on eProcurement in digital marketplaces offering procurement and other services for companies doing business over the Web, especially in public and private marketplaces. Rodger came from Baan, where he was Education Manager for the Western Region helping Baan and other companies set up and conduct ERP training over the Web. Prior to working at Baan he worked for PeopleSoft's Manufacturing Software division, helping introduce those products to the market, and for Marcam, a company offering sophisticated process manufacturing solutions to the paper, agricultural, and high tech markets. Rodger has 20 years of direct manufacturing and logistics experience in the medical device industry.
