Arun Varshney, of Intuit Inc., asked if there is "any EDI transaction
set for Proof Of Delivery and Proof Of Receipt?"
Let's assume Arun wants a transaction set for proof of delivery (or
receipt) of *goods* rather than simply confirmation of messages (which,
as we've been discussing lately, would be done by the 997 Functional
Acknowledgement and the 824 Application Advice).
Proof of Delivery (by the carrier) is provided by the X12 214 Shipment
Status Message (or the EDIFACT IFTSTA or IFTMAN), and Proof of Receipt
by the 861 Receiving Advice (or the EDIFACT RECADV).
