If you go to www.disa.org there is a section on ASC X12. Go to the
subcommittee section and look at Subcommittee C. There is a compliance
document that explains some of this.

Subject: Spec-reading details

I know that EDI specs can contain rules tieing fields, etc. together,
e.g. "If field X is present then field Y must also be present". Where
can I find a complete list of these types of rules? Where can I find a
description of which lets me understand EVERYTHING about an EDI spec.

Thanks.
