The UNA segment is only needed if you are using delimiters other than the norm. Take a look at http://www.unece.org/trade/untdid/texts/d422_d.htm#p4 and see if it says what you are looking for. "The conditional Service String Advice, UNA, (see Annex B) provides the capability to specify the separator and other service characters used in the interchange in case they differ from those in clause 5." If they are using "UNOA" character set... and are using the apostrophe as the segment terminator... the Plus sign as the element delimiter... the Colon as the component separator... and the question mark as the release character... then the UNA segment is not required. -- Linda Denison Senior Programmer Analyst FedEx Corporate Services EC Integration Development +1 (469) 524-6422 "Wakelam Paul (RBAU/LOG)" wrote: > Greetings, > if you specify in UNB the UNO 'A' character do you need a UNA ? > > Where do I find this information one the web so I can refer the vendor to > it. > > (I have already looked at > http://www.unece.org/trade/untdid/texts/d422_d.htm) > > ======================================================================= > To signoff the EDI-L list, mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > To subscribe, mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > To contact the list owner: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives at http://www.mail-archive.com/edi-l%40listserv.ucop.edu/
