I cannot agree more.  I installed or was called into troubleshoot at least 3
dozen BSCYNCH implementations during 1995-97.  While low-end modems could be
made to work, the effort required and the ongoing attention they required
quickly ate up any savings.  Ultimately, I recommended the CLEO solutions
exclusively based on the hardware quality and the experience of their
support people.  Not only did they know their own products but the vagaries
of the Wal-Mart, Ford, etc., connections.

USE ONLY professional quality modems.  All modems are not all created equal.
Consumer modems have no place in a data center if lights operations are
desired.
