I too agree with Rachel.  I found the discussion informative and thought
provoking.

Having to deal with HIPAA Implementations has raised questions regarding the
use of the 997.   This thread did shed some light on the fact that I am not
alone in uncertainty, and I am certain more discussion will be forthcoming.
