Well - PER has 308, SI has 502, PO1 has 556, SLN has 711,
LIN has 752, BIN has 775...

But MTX has 1,525. Two Message Text elements with 760 each,
plust Note Reference Code (3) and Printer Carriage Control
Code (2).

Hmmm - I looked in the GENTRAN Standards Database, which
includes tables of Segments and Elements. The 1573 (or
1565) String element is the longest, at 760 characters.
And it seems to be used a lot by the CSC Segment
(CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE MESSAGE CERTIFICATES AND KEYS).

CSC has up to 4 such elements, plus 2 of 64 characters,
4 of 30, 1 of 18, 6 of 3, and 3 of 2: total 3,330!

Looks like the winner...
