Randy,
I think the IFT stands for "International Forwarding and
Transport". All the IFT messages are generally based on a single
framework design that used to be distributed as part of the
EDIFACT directories as IFTMFR (International forwarding and transport
message framework), but was subsequently dropped as it was not actually intended
to be a usable message. I think the last directory that included IFTMFR
was EDIFACT 93.2 (the last directory issued before the change in naming
convention to the current method).
Best
regards,

Subject: Silly EDIFACT questionThis may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway. What does the "IFT" stand for in message names like the "IFTSTA"(Status message) or "IFTMIN"(instruction message)?Does it have a meaning or is it simply a "name" they gave it?Thanks,Randy RandallPacer Global Logistics925-979-4326
