LLia, I've done EDI for a long time. I didn't want to reinvent the wheel. I've seen several EDI Vendor Survers over the years. I just don't have any with me. I just wanted a form to have my TP's fill out that says what version of EDI they have, what transactions they are doing, and so fourth. I'll probably just create one. Thanks anyway, Shalom, Michael Josiah aka NY EDI Guy YESHUA IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Usually EDI is a part of Compliance, Finance or Technology surveys and other departments send it to me to complete the "EDI Part". I mean, how hard can it be? Company Name, DUNS, Vendor Number (if applicable) Street Address, EDI Tech and Admin Contacts (phone, fax, email), website address etc. EDI S/R ID, Qualifer, Version, Interchange Version, Van (+ Mailbox & ID if IBM), Van Cost Split (usually 50/50), Catalog (QRS or GE), AS2 stuff, Transactions supported already + version, or planned to support (if yes, then when) blah-blah-blah, use your imagination. Common, is this your 1st time doing EDI, or you need the help with creating a document template with MS Word? Don't take it personally, but if you don't know this stuff, you should probably be using a service agency or consultant instead. Ilia P.S. can we keep religious stuff off this list? I have enough problems at home explaining my kid that we are Jewish and we are not supposed to believe in Santa and get gifts for Christmas. I mean, she got 8 gifts for Hanukah, enough already! Cheers. -----Original Message----- From: Earl Wertheimer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, December 21, 2004 11:44 AM To: Michael Josiah; [email protected] Subject: Re: [EDI-L] EDI Vendor Survey Michael > I want to start by wishing everyone on the list a Happy Hannakuah and a Merry > Christmas as we enter this sacred time of year for the two great faiths of the > world. That depends on how you define 'greatness' ;-) There are more Muslims, Buddhists & Hindus in the world than Jews. In fact, Judaism is pretty far down the list. http://members.aol.com/porchfour/religion/populate.htm Don't misunderstand.. I'm Jewish, but I can see how your wish could get some people bothered. > Does someone have a sample/template of an EDI survey you have used with your > TP's in the past, that they wouldn't mind sharing? If I had a survey, I would be glad to send it. I've never done this when we've replaced an MRP or EDI system. We usually take an inventory of the existing partners & versions and implement whatever is already in production. If any of the versions are old, we would update them, but only after everything is back in production _and_ if the client agrees. You could check some of the Trading Partner web sites. Many of them archive their news. I am thinking of JCPenney, specifically. We maintain a large list of links at: http://www.spe-edi.com/links.html Good luck, and Happy Holidays..
