Beverly, A typical supplier-warehouse interaction scenario (short-version) would be something like this :
The Supplier(manufacturer) physically ships to the fwd warehouse. They have the option of sending a 943 to indicate shipment is on the way. Once received by the warehouse, the warehouse sends back a 944 to acknowledge receipt of the goods. The 940/945 loop series gives the supplier the option of dictating to the warehouse what to ship to the customer (940). The warehouse, once fullfilling the order to the customer, informs the supplier what was shipped (945). The 947 simply communicates inventory adjustment either at the supplier or fwd warehouse. Let me know if you need more detail. Terry E. I am from the point of view of a manufacturing company which is in the process of setting up a third party warehouse with a facility on the west coast and one on the east coast. Again, I just need a general idea of how these transaction sets interact. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a great day! Beverly [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] .
