Susan, I have come across this kind of 'problem' with many of my installations. Where one TP wants to receive via a standard VAN, another via FTP or even email. And they do not want all necessarily receive EDI transactions either. A nightmare to manage!
Luckily I use and recommend Softshare's suite of products (Delta - the mapper and ECS the router) and a change like the one you've mentioned is a real easy change. Since Ecs already uses a built-in FTP client, it is just a matter of changing the delivery info for that particular partner. Same document - different destination. Or different document - depending on what your partner wants to receive. Yes. True I am tooting my own horn, but I've come across many sites that needed to purchase extra software or write new code "just for one site". That is never the case, and it soon turns into a royal mess trying to keep track what goes where, when and how. You may not be in the market for a new integration tool, but you may want to take a look at Softshare's product suite before 'writing just one more exception'.
