Jeff, I think a good point to start would be id they want Pick-N-Pack or Standard Pack. Usually UCC128 would be at pallet level and SCC4 fro the master carton. That's the standard, so help you god!! Good Luck my friend. Jeff, For most of our customers we send total pallets QTY and total Cartoon QTY at the shipment level. We have UCC128 for each carton and in case of pallets we sent UCC128 for the tare level and include SCC14 code from each box at item level (for pallets only). Also we send total item QTY for each item shipped. But all customers are different and they may request different format of ASN. We are in the beginning stages of making some value added changes to our shipping process, including IT changes of our barcode solution integrated with our SAP system. Question in regards to 856 requirements: If you ship a pallet or multiple pallets containing multiple boxes, what do most companies expect to receive on the ASN? Do they wish to receive the number of pallets, number of boxes per pallet, box id including # (box 1 of 20), qty in each box? Should each pallet have it's own id # such as pallet # 1, # 2, etc? We are in the electronics manufacturing industry so the same business process may or may not apply to multiple industries. Though, I appreciate anyone's input. No SALES calls please. Thanks!
