I have learned (the hard way) to never get personal in public fora; none of what I have posted should be taken that way. This is more my own 'rant' or 'vent' on the subject. There are postings of this type at least once a week here; and there is a similar number of similar postings on a couple of other newsgroups in which I participate. My 'rant' is, although these postings have been appearing regularly for seven or eight years (at least?), for some reason these principles have not yet 'sunk in': 1. Outsourcing IS going to happen. 2. Some of that outsourcing WILL be to foreign companies. 3. The laws of supply and demand will NOT be repealed; as there are more people available to fill positions, both individual and aggregate wages and benefits WILL be subject to downward pressure. 4. The laws of free-market economics are NOT going to be repealed, either; if a company cannot price their products competitively, they WILL go out of business, therefore opportunities to cut costs WILL be siezed. That may mean cutting personnel, replacing personnel with less expensive personnel, or replacing personnel with technology. The bottom line: Your Competition is Global. Deal With It.
