We have integrated EDI into SL 7.05. It was not pretty. We had to perfrom
significant mods to the SL stored procedures. We used Softshare ECS and Delta
products which certainly helped. For a lot of drop-ship customers, we wrote a
.Net program to take the SL invoice, then go get the tracking info and we creat
n ASN from that. Works very well. Over 80% of our orders (apprx 4000/mo) come
in via EDI.

John:

SyteLine is a real bear - you may have to "roll your own" when it comes to
integration, depending
on your requirements.

I'll attach the SyteLine EDI interface specs in case you have not seen them
yet ....

BTW - these were originally from Nathan Camp.

Subject: [EDI-L] Integration to Syteline

Hi group.

I have a new site to setup and their ERP is Syteline. I find (for lack of
better words) that their interface files are 'lacking'.

This is for both inbound PO's and outbound Invoices. (Haven't even looked at
ASN's yet.)

The interface files are typical header-detail- summary flat-file fixed-length
ASCII records but the data within the actual records is missing a slew of
information that I'm used to seeing in a 'good' interface file. Stuff like,
addresses (BT, ST, etc), taxes, discounts - even item descriptions, formats,
sizes etc. Some real basic stuff.

I can probably query the database to pick up the missing information that
I'd need for say an outbound 810 but I find it kind of ____ that someone
went to the trouble of defining an EDI interface file when half the data
you'd typically need is not there.

Anyone else have to integrate to Syteline before?

John Fiorino
