Whenever I do an EDI presentation to non-geeks I never use 8XX numbers, I want
to treat everyone as an equal (Lowest Common Denominator). You should have 2
resumes,, one for management level positions discussing how you interfaced with
customers and/or vendors and how you saved money. The second is the geek
resume talking about the technical stuff (Geek terminology) you did. Both
should point out how you are distinguished from the rest.

I love that! It is true! Whenever I conduct a meeting most of the
people in the meeting have the "deer in the headlights" look when I
start talking..

Even some of my co-workers even admit to zoning out when I talk details.

I still have my job here as far as I know. I feel it is time to dust
off the resume and update it while I still have a job. I went shopping
this weekend and several stores in our fairly large mall had closed.
Disney store was one of them. This is what got me thinking I should not
put it off any longer.

I love the humor. Humor makes life bearable. I am the type of person
when your waiting in the doctors office for results of a test, I go
rummaging through the stuff and go "oh look plastic gloves".. yes I
get in trouble but oh well...

Michael,

I did tailor my resume when I was looking. I have been here 10 years
and wondering how do you describe 10 years in a paragraph.

Do you use a lot of facts and figures or generalize. I assume
non-techies (HR) will read it first before IT gets to look at it. How
do you sound smart when most don't understand what your talking about?

Hate to break your heart, madam, but that depends on the position for
which
you are applying.

Um, you *DO* tailor your resume to each position for which you apply,
don't
you?

> How long should a Resume be?

It can be any length, but if it's more than one (1) page, page one
better
have the reader really interested if you want him or her to even look at

pages two thru 'n.'
