I'd also point out that this list is how I found out about Softshare
and for a small to midsize company, from what I've seen, I'd recommend
it. I've not had a chance to actually setup and use it, but I have
used another product called Boomi, which I like and when it comes to
recommending for these type of companies, it comes down to those two.
I've worked extensively with Gentran for UNIX, NT and some with GIS,
some with Trusted Link (mostly mapping) and a complete implementation
of Boomi for a TMS and WMS company. For most companies Gentran is
overkill and expensive and GIS is absolutely that in my opinion.
