Hello Dino,
When you say KC, it's KC of what? (1) The custom (ERP) format, (2)
The EDI format, or (3) or both? Let's make an example:
- I am sending a CSV file of 5.4 KC
- The "VAN" translates it to EDIFACT message of 6.9 KC, and send it
What should I pay?
- 5.4 x $0.20 = $1.08
- 6.9 x $0.20 = $1.38
- (5.4 + 6.9) x $0.20 = $2.46
In addition to that, my experience with VAN is that $0.20/KC is only
the "operational" cost. They will ask additional fee for:
- connection setup
- mapping development
- etc.
When I was suggesting $0.32/message, I was talking about the total
cost of an EDI message. It looks like VAN are much more expensive ;-)
What do you think?
/Patrice
