AFAIK all the US automotive AFTERMARKET (NAPA, Giant, O'Reilly, Carquest, 
etc) use exclusively ANSI ASC X12 EDI.

I haven't done automotive OEM EDI since the mid 1990's but IIRC Ford, GM, 
Nissan and Honda (at least) used ANSI ASC X12 at that time, too and I can't 
remember ANY EDIFACT for that client (Walker Muffler/ Tenneco).  (Walker 
Muffler moved out of Racine approx 1998, just beyond the Cheddar Curtain to 
the Chicago area)
