If you are running on NT you can use the EDICLEAN utility program you can find 
at my web site,
www.talsystems.com, Click on the "Tech Corner" tab and look for EDICLEAN.

That will reformat from any format to any other format, removing "junk" along 
the way and your applications may then assume your 
ANSI
X12 data are, indeed, in the format required by your application.  (Can be used 
to change from 'nix (newline = 0x0A) to pc (0x0D0A)
or vice versa, too. But you probably already have something to do that).

I haven't counted downloads on that in a while, lets' see...21 downloads last 
month. Not too bad, considering that's been available
for six-eight years now....
