Reach out to any European contacts you have doing EDIFACT, in England in particular. That's where I first came into contact with the GLN. I believe we only had to identify *which* prefix we needed to use. Back in the day.

They are the ones who need to get a GLN. I'm just trying to cut through the B.S. They had a huge problem in the past, when Home Depot came with their 'Big Hammer' and insisted that they join a data pool. It cost them thousands to join ECCC (the Canadian GS1), get lawyers letters confirming that they had the rights to other mfg.prefixes that they were distributing, ad nauseum... Then Home Depot dropped the Hammer. > I'm sure someone with GS1 US (or Canada, or wherever) will correct me if > I'm wrong, but I believe GLNs are issued by GS1 entities. They have a GS1 prefix, so it should be simple to register the new GLN. > On 4/25/2012 10:29 AM, Earl Wertheimer wrote: > > > > One of my clients called and said that they needed a GLN. > > (Global LOCATION Number) > > > > My experience until now, is that only Walmart has been using GLNs for > > their > > various Store and DC locations. > > > > This request is related to using a UPC Product Data Pool (ie.
